Katy Perry still can’t imagine she’s officially an astronaut.
“In the future while you’re older, will YOU still look up in wonder?” Perry, 40, wrote alongside Instagram footage of herself floating amongst the celebrities during her Monday, April 14, Blue Origin spaceflight. “Still processing this incredible journey ✨.”
Along with thanking Blue Origin, Perry gave a shout-out to her “space sisters, taking on space AND making room in space for all.” She ended her caption by writing, “See you on tour (once I come down, figuratively).”
Perry was one among six women who took off from Blue Origin’s Launch Site One in West Texas on Monday morning. The group — which included CBS Mornings host Gayle King, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez — made history as the primary all-women spaceflight since Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova’s 1963 solo trip.
Within the in-flight footage, which Perry shared on Tuesday, April 15, the Grammy nominee and her fellow passengers screamed in excitement while experiencing zero gravity. “Taking over space!” they exclaimed into one among the capsule’s cameras.
Several of the ladies brought special mementos with them for the fight. Perry, for her part, brought a small daisy flower as a nod to her 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, whom she shares together with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom. Within the clip, which she set to her song “Wonder,” Perry also held up a butterfly-shaped cutout featuring what looks just like the setlist for her upcoming Lifetimes Tour.

After having fun with a number of minutes of floating and taking in views of Earth and the moon, Perry and the ladies strapped themselves back into their seats. After landing back on the bottom, Perry triumphantly held up her daisy before kneeling and kissing the bottom.
In a post-flight interview for Blue Origin, King, 70, revealed that Perry sang “What a Wonderful World” as they prepared for his or her return to Earth. Perry later explained why she selected to sing the tune over one among her own, stating, “It’s not about singing my songs. It’s a few collective energy in there. It’s about us. It’s about making space for future women and taking on space and belonging. And it’s about this glorious world that we see right on the market and appreciating it. That is all for the advantage of Earth.”

Perry said that the spaceflight experience ranked “second to being a mom” and in addition explained the meaning of her daisy memento. “Daisies are common flowers, but they grow through any condition,” she explained. “They grow through cement. They grow through cracks. They grow through partitions. They’re resilient. … It’s a reminder of our beautiful Earth and the flowers here and God’s smile and the gorgeous magic that’s in all places, throughout us, and even in a straightforward daisy. So, to actually appreciate it and remember it and deal with it and protect it.”
Each Bloom, 48, and their daughter were in attendance at Monday’s launch. Bloom shared footage of himself watching the takeoff and landing via his Instagram Story on Monday. “Coming in to land,” he stated in a single clip because the capsule made its way back down.
