Leny Yoro has sent a message to Manchester United supporters within the wake of the criticism he received from Thierry Henry following the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday.
Henry has faced backlash for singling out the 19-year-old defender during his post-match evaluation for Sky Sports on Monday night.
The previous Arsenal, Barcelona and France striker highlighted Yoro’s body language within the aftermath of Harvey Barnes’ second goal at St James’ Park which put Newcastle 3-1 ahead.
Yoro, who joined United for an initial £52 million fee last summer, was seen the assistant referee on the far side of the pitch after Barnes had put the ball in the online, despite there being no probability of the Newcastle midfielder being in an offside position.
‘I invite everyone to remain on Leny Yoro. In the beginning, he’s going to attempt to play for offside,’ Henry said during his evaluation of the goal.

‘It’s an important finish from Barnes but please stay on Yoro and what he’s asking for… pause.

‘I don’t know what he’s . What are you ? Are you the linesman to attempt to see if he’s going to bail you out? I don’t know.
‘I don’t know if he thought there was an offside, I don’t know. All of us comprehend it’s a goal! What are you ?! I actually don’t know. I’ve never seen that before.’
In a message to supporters on Instagram on Tuesday night, Yoro posted an image of himself looking dejected through the Newcastle defeat.
The image also included a caption in French which read: ‘Don’t be anxious about anything, but at all times ask God for what you would like. And once you pray, ask for it with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6.’
Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand insists he has seen signs of improvement from Yoro following his arrival from Lille last July.
‘It was a troublesome start for him but young players need to return right into a team, in the event that they’re going to do well, with players around them and look to when it’s not going well and draw confidence from,’ Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel after United’s defeat to Newcastle, which has left Ruben Amorim’s side 14th within the Premier League.

‘That’s why I feel sorry for a few of these players that join Man United in the meanwhile because there’s only Bruno [Fernandes].
‘What I’ve seen from him, he’s a student of the sport. He sees his mistakes, he acknowledges his mistakes, he tries to learn from those mistakes. And I can see that.
‘Even when he’s getting out wide in a single v one situations, against Southampton he got roasted. I spoke to him after that start getting your arms out, he’s now making contact with people, slowing people down.
‘Putting your arm across someone’s chest when you’re running ain’t about attempting to foul or anything like that, it’s simply to slow them down, put them off their momentum put them off pace a bit of bit, while your legs are motoring.
‘Little details I can see now that he’s pushing up people when he’s within the channel, relatively than simply considering I’m going to win in a foot race, that is a distinct league its a more physical league in that sense, in the meanwhile his team isn’t getting no respect from any player, that’s going to make it harder for him.
‘I feel he’s improved definitely and there’s a calmness about him. When he first got in there was a panic. There’s a giant difference.’
