TNA World Champion Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance on WrestleMania 41 (Night Two), stepping in as Randy Orton’s surprise opponent after Kevin Owens was pulled because of injury.
Hendry managed to get in a little bit offense, but Orton made quick work of the TNA World Champion, putting him away together with his signature DDT and RKO.
As we previously reported here on eWn, a former WWE World Champion was regarded as Orton’s opponent for WrestleMania 41.
During a WWE digital exclusive interview, Orton shared his experience of wrestling Hendry for the primary time last night.
Orton said, “Having fun, that’s the a part of what we do this sometimes you don’t get to have as much fun on the market since you’re the nerves, the adrenaline, it’s through the roof. You’ll be able to’t sleep nights before. But me not knowing who my opponent was going to be, all those nerves were gone, and I used to be capable of absorb all that energy. Got to say a little bit something, get everybody ready for the proven fact that we don’t know who’s about to step through that curtain. I couldn’t be more completely happy with who my opponent ended up being.”
He continued, “Now, after I first heard the music, and I first saw who it was, I wasn’t quite sure the way it was going to feel about it, but then I heard the people’s response to this guy, they usually love him. They love him. Now, I needed to hit a few RKOs, as per the same old, but then I did my very own little version of the Hendry spin around. I don’t know what he calls it, but I’ll let you know what, I may need to steal that for next week. Perhaps, we’ll see after we get there. You’re going to should wait. If I do it again, it can be on SmackDown, or possibly Monday Night RAW.”
