Joao Pedro has accomplished his £60million move to Chelsea from Brighton.

The Blues have swooped so as to add an alternative choice to their front line with the Brazil international signing a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle United were also wanting to sign the 23-year-old with Pedro preferring a move to London.

Chelsea have agreed a deal value £55m with £5m in add-ons with Brighton with Pedro departing after two seasons on the AMEX.

In a parting message to the Seagulls, Pedro wrote on Instagram: ‘I would like to thanks all for the past two years we’ve been together, for all of the support and great memories that we created, it was a pleasure and a privilege to work with this team.’

Chelsea confirmed Pedro’s arrival on Wednesday afternoon.
