Viktor Gyokeres is reconsidering a move to Manchester United after Arsenal’s negotiations with Sporting CP stalled this week, based on reports in Portugal.
Gyokeres, who scored 54 goals in 52 appearances last season, has made Arsenal his priority destination this summer and has already rejected a suggestion from Juventus.
United, meanwhile, have also been informed of Gyokeres’ preference to affix Arsenal, with Ruben Amorim keen so as to add a brand new striker to his squad before the beginning of the brand new Premier League season.
Nonetheless, Arsenal have did not make progress during their negotiations with Sporting, who’re standing firm over their €80m (£68.6m) asking price.
Arsenal’s latest offer is value €65m (£56m) plus €15m (£13m) in add-ons, but Sporting are demanding €70m (£60m) up front with an extra €10m (£8.6m) in bonuses.

In accordance with Correio da Manha, Gyokeres is ‘rethinking’ his next move and while the striker still prefers a switch to Arsenal, he is alleged to be giving United a ‘re-examination’.
Meanwhile, fellow Portuguese newspaper Record reports that Gyokeres has turned down an approach from United on three separate occasions.
Nonetheless, United, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are all understood to be willing to satisfy Sporting’s €70m (£60m) plus €10m (£8.6m) demand for the 27-year-old.
Gyokeres and Amorim have a robust relationship following their time together at Sporting before the 40-year-old left the Portuguese club to affix United last November.
In an interview with France Football this week, Gyokeres thanked Amorim for the important thing role he played in his development at Sporting.
‘I got here here, it’s been great since day one, I’ve developed quite a bit here with the team,’ Gyokeres said.
‘We now have plenty of amazing memories together as a team, winning two championships in a row, for the primary time in 71 years I believe it’s, it’s an incredible achievement.
‘In fact, Amorim played an enormous a part of this because he was the one who really wanted me here and his sort of football that we played under him suited me thoroughly, I believe.
‘I can’t thank him enough.’
