Microsoft has announced that some features previously limited to Ultimate Game Pass subscribers at the moment are available to Game Pass Core / Standard members. This move is clearly one other step within the restructuring of the Xbox brand as Microsoft moves forward in updating it. Microsoft made it clear, following the reveal of the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally gaming handhelds at this yr’s Game Pass Showcase, that big things are forthcoming for the Xbox streaming service, and these latest updates look like a component of that plan.

“Xbox Game Pass Core and Standard subscribers will give you the chance to stream cloud playable games included with their subscription or select cloud playable games they own, making it easier to leap in from any supported device.”

Starting today, those with either Core or Standard subscriptions can stream either select purchased games or those available through the service. This was a feature previously limited to the Ultimate tier level. As well as, Core or Standard subscribers who were members of the Xbox Insider program now have access to pick PC games. This, too, is a primary for these tier levels. Microsoft does mention that this update includes support for Windows-based gaming handhelds, which again shows its give attention to Xbox mobile gaming.

“As a part of testing, Xbox Insiders subscribed to Game Pass Core or Standard will for the primary time gain access to PC versions of select titles, providing you with even more flexibility and the selection to play on a PC or Windows handheld.”

There’s no word on whether latest features or other changes are within the works for the Game Pass Ultimate tier level. One also has to wonder if the Core / Standard levels can be getting a price hike following the addition of those latest features as well. In either case, there’s likely more changes inbound because the Xbox brand begins a brand new era of recent products and repair changes.

My Apps

One other recent update for Xbox Insiders was the addition of My Apps on Windows 11 PCs and gaming handhelds. The brand new app serves as a hub for downloading games from multiple storefronts, allowing users to maintain every little thing in a single convenient place.

“Starting this week, Xbox Insiders enrolled within the PC Gaming Preview can be the primary to experience the brand new “My Apps” feature within the Xbox PC App on Windows 11 PCs and handhelds.”
