Duleep Trophy Quarterfinals Day 2 Highlights: North Zone Vs East Zone & Central Zone Vs North East Zone

Duleep Trophy 2025 Quarterfinal Day 2: Central Zone and North Zone have taken control of their respective matches with dominating performances on the second day.

Earlier on Thursday, in quarterfinal 1, senior pacer Mohammed Shami delivered a formidable performance, though not particularly incisive, while young left-arm spinner Manishi’s pivotal strikes helped East Zone restrict North Zone to 308 for six on the opening day of the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals on Thursday.

Middle-order batter Ayush Badoni showcased a classy 63 off 60 balls on a comparatively smooth pitch, but other North batters did not capitalise on their solid starts after East selected to bowl.

Meanwhile, within the second quarterfinal clash, Vidarbha’s Ranji Trophy hero Danish Malewar and the experienced Rajat Patidar dominated the North East Zone’s weak bowling attack with impressive centuries, as Central Zone surged to 432 for two in 77 overs before rain interrupted play on the primary day of the Duleep Trophy quarter-final on Thursday.

Malewar, 21, who scored a major hundred within the Ranji Trophy final last season, was on a career-best 198 not out, while Patidar was more aggressive together with his 125 off 96 balls. Together, they hit 56 boundaries.
