For those who’re on the lookout for the best gear in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery, you’ll must grind your Warsong Outriders status to Revered. Thankfully, that is far easier than it was in regular Classic resulting from a brand new SoD feature. You’ll even get an early mount out of it!
This guide covers the simplest and most effective technique to grind Warsong Outsiders rep in WoW Classic: SoD. In Season of Discovery, you don’t even must enter a single battleground to earn Warsong status. (It definitely helps, though.)
Best technique to grind Warsong Outriders status in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery
The best source of Warsong Outriders status in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery is the Battle for Ashenvale. It is a world event unique to SoD that dishes out tons of Warsong status to any in the world.
While in Ashenvale, you may see a percentage counter for each the Horde and Alliance. These go up each time the respective faction makes a kill. Once each factions are at 100%, the Battle for Ashenvale begins.
For the Horde to win Battle for Ashenvale, we must defeat the Keepers of the Grove on the camps shown on the map. Once all three Keepers are down, the predominant boss, Felore Moonray, will grow to be damagable. Defeat Felore before the Alliance defeats our Blademasters, and the Horde will win.
Find out how to earn Warsong Outriders status in Battle for Ashenvale
Every boss defeated in Battle for Ashenvale rewards 200 Warsong Outriders status. You’ll also get 200 status for winning, with an additional 100 status for each Blademaster still alive. On top of those, the NPCs in each base also reward upwards of 15 rep per kill.
Follow this plan every battle to earn as much Warsong Outriders status as efficiently as possible:
- Set your Hearthstone to Splintertree Post
- Join a bunch attacking Runestone (aka Beach)
- Use your Hearthstone as soon as Centrius has been defeated
- Run to Research if it’s still lively
- Run to Glaive if Ceredwyn at Research has been defeated
- Run to Moonwell Camp to defeat the ultimate boss
Using this method, it is best to give you the option to earn the status from 2-3 bosses, 1-2 packs of NPCs, and hopefully secure a victory. On my server, which normally sees a Horde victory, I earn around 1000 status per battle.
I also highly recommend the NovaWorldBuffs AddOn. This will actively track Ashenvale’s current progress and send you (and your guild) a notification for when the battle will start. Irrespective of where I’m, I all the time keep the proportion counter in the underside right to trace when it’s time to fight.
Like regular WoW Classic, participating within the Warsong Gulch PvP Battleground also earns you Warsong Outriders rep through repeatable token quests.

Kelm Hargunth, The Warsong Outriders status vendor, is outside Warsong Gulch’s entrance in The Barrens. Kelm’s coordinates are 46, 8.
The Warsong Outriders offer way more rewards than regular Classic WoW. This features a Level 25 mount (only usable in Ashenvale) and lots of best-in-slot gear.
