The Octagon returns to ‘The Great White North’ this weekend, bringing with it a pivotal middleweight clash at UFC Vancouver.
Set to throw down on October 18, surging divisional star Reinier de Ridder makes a quickfire turnaround from his latest win to attract a short-notice pairing.
Initially booking a clash with Anthony Hernandez, the Dutch star will now tackle stalwart challenger Brendan Allen in a most important event showdown.
Fan-favorite welterweight Kevin Holland may even feature on the cardboard as he looks to upset the hometown crowd, keeping busy as at all times with a co-headliner opposite Ontario star Mike Malott.
A former title challenger also features on the most important card as he looks to knock back one other hometown favorite seeking his own probability to fight for bantamweight spoils.
It’s a second trip of the yr to Canada for the Octagon leader, so let’s take a deeper take a look at UFC Vancouver.

Reinier de Ridder tipped as massive threat to Khamzat Chimaev
Starting his own Octagon tenure in roughshod fashion, former two-weight ONE Championship kingpin de Ridder has turned in a slew of eye-catching wins.
And already submitting the above-mentioned Holland prior to this weekend’s clash, de Ridder ended the surge of former champion Robert Whittaker in a high-profile summer headliner in Abu Dhabi.
Touted as an enormous star at 185lbs, de Ridder has already been identified as a possible future challenger to the unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev, ever since his title ascension against Dricus du Plessis back in August.
So far as former welterweight title chaser Gilbert Burns is anxious, de Ridder likely has one of the best probability of toppling Chimaev’s title reign when put next to his divisional peers.
“I believe from the entire division, I believe he’s (de Ridder) the one which has more probability,” Burns said on the Buiten De Kooi MMA podcast. “I used to be talking to Chimaev’s coach, jiu-jitsu coach, we fought before, and I asked, ‘Who do you’re thinking that is the toughest fight?’
“I said I believe it’s RDR, after which he said, ‘Me too’. I actually have all of RDR’s videos. I watched every little thing already. It’s not a simple fight. He must beat another guy
