Ruben Amorim has been accused of overlooking Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo resulting from a ‘personal’ issue.
Mainoo has not began any of United’s first seven Premier League games in a transparent sign that he has fallen down the pecking order under Amorim.
The 20-year-old has managed only a meagre 120 minutes of playing day off the bench within the league, while his only start got here within the shock Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town.
It marks a stark reversal of Mainoo’s fortunes from when he broke into the Red Devils’ side under Erik ten Hag, an increase which ultimately culminated in him starting for England within the Euro 2024 final.
Nevertheless, Mainoo now looks a great distance from regular United minutes, let alone a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s squad, with Amorim suggesting he’s in direct competition with Bruno Fernandes for one in all the 2 midfield roles.

Seeking regular minutes, Mainoo sought to engineer a loan move away from Old Trafford in the summertime window, however the Red Devils refused to sanction a move.
Former United defender Paul Parker stays baffled by Mainoo’s continued absence from the starting lineup, and suggested that Amorim should have a ‘personal’ issue with the midfielder.

‘We have now to ask why Mainoo hasn’t been utilized in that midfield,’ Parker said, chatting with MyBettingSites.co.uk.
‘Somewhere along the road because I’ve been it, it must be personal. It must be personal and the reality must be told somewhere.
‘He doesn’t like him or he doesn’t like him as a player. It doesn’t make any sense in any respect.’
Amorin on Mainoo’s lack of game time
Asked concerning the midfielder’s lack of minutes, Amorim recently said: ‘Like a variety of guys, he desires to play more.
‘I imagine loads in Kobbie but a few of you’re thinking that that Kobbie Mainoo is already done. I feel he can achieve this a lot better. He can improve in loads.
‘And sometimes I feel for some guys it’s [the level he’s playing at now] enough. For him, it’s not enough. Perhaps it’s not fair but I feel I’m helping Kobbie Mainoo and that’s it.

‘He may have opportunities like the opposite guys. If I feel through the week that he’s the very best player to play, he’s going to play and I proved that already to each player here.
‘I imagine loads in him. I even have the identical thing [opinion] that you will have and that may be a top, top player, but he will be so a lot better, so I’m focused on that.’
‘You don’t need to fall into the trap of playing an area boy because he’s an area boy. But sometimes whenever you take a look at the standard of the player, he went to the Euros and played more football than he or fans expected and he did thoroughly.
‘There’s a talent there that’s not being utilised. It just doesn’t make sense.
‘Don’t call every player elite but Mainoo is a superb player who can play in any position across the Man Utd midfield.

‘He’s an excellent runner, get him in and across the box. You ask him to sit down in midfield and hold, he can do the job and fill space and stop passes from going through.
‘For those who ask him to bite, kick and scratch, that’s probably not him. Football’s not like that anymore cause if it was Mainoo would have struggled a bit. In today’s game, he’s perfect.’
The newest reports suggest that Napoli could reignite their loan interest in Mainoo when the transfer window reopens in January.
And Parker believes that a fresh start abroad, and away from the highlight, could provide the environment to get Mainoo back to his absolute best.
‘You’ve got to grasp, whenever you’re younger, losing form can occur quite quickly nevertheless it’s about getting it back,’ he added.
‘Whenever you make mistakes, you nurture, you don’t stamp down on things, you demand but you demand differently. He hasn’t been given what an excellent manager like Sir Alex Ferguson would do with a young player.
‘Perhaps they need to’ve let him exit on loan and play. Go overseas and experience that little bit to come back back again and begin again. Especially on this current scenario where you’re not going to make use of him, let him go and do this.’
