WBO Minimum champ Sarah ‘Babyface’ Bormann (21-1 (7) won a highly disputed 10-round split decision over former WBO World Atom Minimumweiight champion southpaw Yuko Luroki (25-9-2 (10) on Saturday night on the Wandsbeker Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany.
In the primary two rounds, Luroki started off well, outpointing Bormann with mostly jabs. Within the third round, Bormann kept fouling Luroki with no warning from the Referee.
Within the fourth round, Bormann hit on the break with no warning. Luroki seemed well ahead. Within the fifth and sixth rounds, Luroki continued landing with the faster hands and footwork.
Within the seventh and eighth rounds, Bormann keeps plodding forward, getting countered by Luroki. Within the ninth round’s final minute, a clash of heads caused a nasty cut on the brow of Bormann. Within the tenth and final round, the blood was flowing from the brow of Bormann. Luroki easily won, however the commentator had it even, siding with Bormann the whole fight.
The scores were 97-93 for Luroki, 96-95, and 97-93 for Bormann.
Heavyweight 44-year-old Rydell ‘Rockin rye’ Booker (27-11-1 (14) was stopped by Petar Milas (19-1 (15) at 1:54 of the fifth round of a scheduled 10 rounds.
In the primary round, Milas started off southpaw, switching to orthodox, having Booker against the ropes the whole round on the defensive. Within the third round’s final seconds, Milas dropped Booker with a left to the body for an 8-count. Within the fifth round, Milas dropped Booker twice with body shots before the fight was finally stopped.
Light heavyweight Marco Aschenbrenner (1-0-1 (1) drew with Denzel Oousterwolde (2-1-1 (0) over 4 rounds.
In the primary round, Oousterwolde went right after Aschnebrenner. Each went to the body for essentially the most part. Within the third round, Oousterwolde went to the body throughout, easily taking the round. Within the fourth and final round, it was the perfect round of the fight for the fans and a detailed one with Aschnebrenner at age 47 getting a second wind.
Middleweight Anto Nakic (1-34) lost to Daniel Meyer (2-0) by a four-round points decision.
In the primary round, Nakic lost his mouthpiece twice. Within the second round, Meyer outworked a game Nakic. Within the third round, because of a clash of heads, Meyer had a cut on his right eyebrow. Within the fourth and final round, Meyer continued outworking Nakic, who lost his mouthpiece for the third time because the referee deducted some extent.
The referee scored it 40-35.
Welterweight Jonny Sanchez (20-8 (13) was defeated by Vedat Deniz (17-0 (10) by a six-round points decision. Deniz scored two knockdowns.
Within the second round, Deniz dropped Sanchez with a right to the body for an 8-count. Within the third round, Sanchez got here back well, though Deniz still outlanded him.
Within the fifth round, Deniz knocked out the mouthpiece of Sanchez with a right on the chin. A right to the ribs from Deniz dropped Sanchez. Within the sixth and final round, again, Deniz knocked out the mouthpiece of Sanchez. The round was close. Sanchez fought orthodox and southpaw throughout the fight.
The referee scored it 60-52.
