Danny Garcia Ends Profession With 4th-Round KO

Danny Garcia (38-4, 22 KOs) ended his profession on a positive note, knocking out the much smaller Daniel ‘El Gallo’ Gonzalez (22-5-1, 7 KOs) within the fourth round of a scheduled 10-round fight on Saturday night on the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Latest York.

Gonzalez never stood a probability

Garcia, 37, stalked the much smaller Gonzalez across the ring, staggering him with a right hand in the primary round. Within the fourth, Danny ‘Swift’ lined up Gonzalez and dropped him together with his trademark left hook.

Gonzalez attempted to rise up, but fell back down. This left the referee with no other alternative but to halt the competition.

Danny was missing so much together with his shots, hitting air, and searching slow. It’s comprehensible why he seemed so ring-rusty because he’s rarely fought. Garcia has fought just six times since 2019.

The fans at ringside on the Barclays Center were pleased with what they’d seen. They’d come to see the previous two-division world champion Garcia end his profession with a knockout, and he completed that.

A Soft Opponent for a Goodbye Show

It might have been nicer if a greater opponent had been chosen for Danny Garcia’s farewell fight, because this wasn’t even sporting. Gonzalez looked way too small to be contained in the same ring with Garcia. It wasn’t a good fight.

“I do know that I hurt him in round one, but my timing was a bit off,” said Garcia after the competition. “So I made a decision to work behind my jab, and I knew when he stopped his feet, I used to be gonna catch him. I used to be just taking it round by round. I didn’t underestimate him. He was in great shape. My dad told me to simply stick with the sport plan.”

Danny was never an incredible fighter, even when he was within the prime of his profession between 2014 and 2017. It’s hard to see Garcia staying retired because he can proceed to get nice paydays if he stays lively.

Garcia was coming off a 13-month layoff from a ninth-round stoppage loss against Erislandy Lara on September 14, 2024.
