The Toronto Maple Leafs are undergoing a little bit of early season drama, it appears. Goalteder Anthony Stolarz publicly called out his teammates after a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night. The Maple Leafs remain one in all the higher teams within the NHL. Nonetheless, those comments definitely showed that there continues to be work to be done.
This type of criticism coming out after six games is concerning, as well. It isn’t entirely unheard of, after all. In reality, Detroit Red Wings coach Todd McLellan called out his team after their first game against the Montreal Canadiens. Simply because it is not unheard of doesn’t suggest there’s not something to fret about, though.
For now, it appears to be water under the bridge. William Nylander was asked concerning the comments from his goaltender. And he mentioned that the entire locker room is frustrated with how they’re starting the season.
“I believe there’s frustration possibly a bit bit within the locker room,” Nylander said, via NHL.com. “I believe we will play higher but I believe our game has been growing. What are we 3-2-1? It’s what it’s, but we’re a tight-knit group and we move forward from here.
“It’s all good. We’re teammates, he’s an amazing guy. It’s nothing we want to speak about (within the media). He talked to me after and it’s all good.”

The Maple Leafs didn’t put their best foot forward on Saturday. They gave Seattle some easy looks in the sport. And people are the varieties of possibilities a team just like the Kraken can reap the benefits of. Furthermore, they didn’t seem eager about making life hard for his or her opponents.
One other bad look got here within the third period. Toronto defenseman Brandon Carlo stood and watched as Kraken forward Mason Marchment bumped into Stolarz. And it wasn’t until Stolarz reacted that anyone on the Maple Leafs jumped to his defense.

Stolarz has a Stanley Cup to his name. He knows what a team must do with a purpose to achieve the goals the Maple Leafs ostensibly aspire to. It’s due to the potential he sees on this team that he’s as frustrated as he’s.
“We’re on the cusp of doing great things in order that’s why I’m so captivated with it,” Stolarz said Monday, via NHL.com. “I feel we will go all the way in which.
“Our goal is to win the Stanley Cup and with a purpose to get there it’s a process. We’ve had some discussions, and we love one another. It’s a family in here.”
The Maple Leafs are back in motion on Tuesday night after they tackle Jesper Bratt and the Recent Jersey Devils.
