 Brian McKnight has continued his “fatherhood” talk series, as Julie McKnight has seemingly reacted to him claiming he won a $8 million judgment against her.

Brian McKnight Continues Fatherhood Talk Series After Claiming He Won $8M Judgment Against Julie McKnight On Late Son’s Birthday

Over the weekend, Brian McKnight returned to Instagram to share one other video post along with his greater than 500,000 followers. Moreover, the clip began with Brian welcoming his viewers to “fatherhood fridays,” a chat series he initially launched on Instagram in September 2024.

“Considered one of the best things about being a father is with the ability to fulfill the dreams of your father and convey the entire family while we fulfill those dreams,” he told viewers. “Considered one of father’s dreams was to return up in a hot air balloon. So we’re in Morocco and, wallah! Hot air balloon with the entire family.”

When McKnight panned the camera, viewers could see other individuals sitting alongside him. Moreover, the clip showed aerial shots of the family’s excusion.

She Seemingly Reacts To His Claims

Then, through the early hours of Monday, October 20, Brian’s ex-wife Julie McKnight, took to her Instagram Story to seemingly react to him recently alleging he won a $8 million judgment against her. Moreover, Julie simply shared a screenshot of their case file, circling that the status of their case stands as “pending.”

“We’ve been quiet — listening to liars proceed to lie and keeping to ourselves, living and loving our life as we said, leaving every part in God’s hands [and] letting our lawyer do the talking. But in line with the courts, attempting to destroy my name and attempting to bring harm to my family with a book stuffed with lies equals $8.8 million,” he told viewers.

Moreover, the footage played a voicemail from Julie, instructing him to not contact their son Niko. Because the audio played, Brian was seen skipping within the background. To notice, Julie didn’t immediately react to her ex-husband’s claims. As an alternative, she reserved October 16 for celebrating their late son.

The lawsuit notes that although Brian was never mentioned by name, “it is evident to 3rd parties” that Julie’s “false statements… were about Mr. McKnight.” Per the lawsuit, Julie falsely alleged that Brian was chargeable for their children’s lack of success within the music industry  and that he emotionally abused her and neglected their children during their marriage. In sum, the suit states that Julie’s alleged claims have hurt Brian’s repute and profession. Due to this fact, he’s searching for a a trial by jury, “compensatory damages” of at the very least $25,000, paid for attorney’s fees.

But Has Brian McKnight Really Won An $8M Judgment Against Julie McKnight?

On July 17, 2025, a court motion was filed asserting that Julie was served with the summons on May 9, 2025. Nonetheless, she allegedly did not “plead to the criticism.” Then, on August 5, Brian’s counsel has “totally failed or refused to reply” the criticism. Due to this fact, Brian, the plaintiff, is entitled to a “Default judgment.”

Nonetheless, on October 6, the court filed a motion asserting that the case “requires a response from all parties.” Due to this fact, if all parties and their counsel don’t respond by October 27, a trial date shall be set by the court.
