Paridhi Sharma On Pay Disparity
When asked concerning the pay disparity in TV, Paridhi Sharma revealed, “I believe cinema mein toh yeh disparity hai, but television mein nahi hai. Television mein toh ulta hai, television mein female leads ko zyada importance milta hai, kyunki television ke audience mostly, you understand, hamari housewives hain, homemakers hain. Toh yahan pe zyada bolbala female artists ka rehta hai. Haan, toh television mein toh I believe males ko actually fight karna chahiye parity ke liye. But cinema mein definitely it’s more male-dominated. Lekin ab things are changing. Actresses like Vidya Balan, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut yeh sab iss norm ko break kar rahi hain. Aur inke naam par bhi audience cinema dekhne aati hai, aur inhe equally ya kabhi-kabhi zyada pay bhi mil raha hai.”
Paridhi Reveals If She Will Do Jodhaa Akbar Again
Speaking of whether she is going to ever do Jodhaa Akbar again, the actress said, “To be very honest, I don’t need to do Jodha again. I even have lived that have. As an actor, you must do different characters na? I even have lived it — maine usko bharpoor jiya, poori shiddat se jiya, maze mein jiya. Ab ho gaya. Toh ab major Jodha dobara nahi karna chaahungi. Aur mujhe lagta hai ab us kahani mein kuch naya kehne ke liye hai bhi nahi — jitni kahani thi, woh kahi ja chuki hai. So I would really like to do something recent now.”
Paridhi Sharma might be next seen in Haq, starring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi.
