Neelam Giri REACTS To Body-Shaming Ashnoor Kaur In Bigg Boss 19

When asked if she felt it was unfair that everybody blamed her for body-shaming Ashnoor Kaur in Bigg Boss, Neelam Giri said, “Bilkul bilkul, uss time mujhe aisa laga ki woh saari jo bhi baatein hui thi, woh sab mere pe thop rahi thi. Aur mujhe woh bilkul accha nahi laga, kyunki jab hum log baat karte the ya so-called ‘chugli’ karte the, toh uss time sab log barabar mein baat karte the. Aisa nahi tha ki maine zyada bola aur usne kam bola, sab ne barabar bola tha. Aur uss waqt agar mujhe kuch samajh nahi aaya tha, toh mujhe ya usko rok lena chahiye tha.”

She continued, “Ya phir ma’am ko humein rokna chahiye tha, jo unfortunately ho nahi paya. Sir ne uss cheez ko call out kar diya, jiske liye maine phir sorry bhi bola, lekin Tania ne sorry nahi bola. Uska kehna tha ki ‘Fundamental sir ke saamne sorry bol chuki hoon,’ par actually usne sabke saamne nahi bola tha. Toh maine usse kaha ki tum jaake sabke saamne sorry bolo, lekin usne jaake Abhishek ko sorry bol diya. Abhishek ko jaake sorry bol diya, toh thoda sa woh situation gadbad ho gaya, lekin theek hai.”

Ashnoor Kaur Body-Shamed In Bigg Boss 19

In Bigg Boss 19, Ashnoor Kaur was body-shamed by Tanya Mittal, Neelam Giri, and Kunickaa Sadanand, sparking widespread outrage. Tanya and Neelam made derogatory comments about Ashnoor’s weight, calling her “moti,” “haathi,” and a “dinosaur.” Additionally they criticised her clothing decisions and questioned her efforts to drop extra pounds. Ashnoor broke down, explaining her weight fluctuations were resulting from a hormonal imbalance she had battled since her teens, revealing her past struggles with body image and eating disorders. She confronted Tanya directly, saying, “Shame on you.”

Salman Khan condemned the contestants’ behaviour, calling body-shaming worse than verbal abuse and emphasising that such incidents should never occur again. The incident garnered support from fans and celebrities like Gauahar Khan and Jannat Zubair, with Ashnoor’s father also defending her.
