John Terry revealed he has been left impressed by what he has seen and heard about one Chelsea summer signing in training.
Chelsea have enjoyed a promising begin to the 2025-26 season after a productive summer transfer window through which almost £300m was spent on recent signings.
Joao Pedro, Jorrel Hato, Jamie Gittens, Estevao, Alejandro Garnachao and Liam Delap were among the many players to make the move to Stamford Bridge to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.
And lots of of those additions have already had the specified effect, with the Blues currently third within the Premier League, and named by some as ‘dark horses’ to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the title.
Within the absence of Nicolas Jackson, who left for Bayern Munich in the summertime, the burden of goalscoring responsiblity has been placed on Pedro following his move from Brighton over the summer.

The Brazilian made an fast impact on the Club World Cup over the summer and has already scored 4 goals in his first 11 league appearances, including in back-to-back games against Tottenham and Wolves prior to the international break.
And such performances have left a positive impression on former Chelsea skipper Terry, who even admitted the 24-year-old wouldn’t have been his first-choice option for a brand new striker in the summertime window.

‘You have a look at Joao Pedro, he wouldn’t have been top of my list, but he’s been great to this point,’ Terry said on The Obi One Podcast.
‘He’s had a very good begin to his Chelsea profession and I believe a whole lot of strikers are available in and don’t get off to the beginning that he’s got off too so I’m delighted for him.
‘I believe he’s been really, really good. And in addition, I see him train and the boys tell me he’s unbelievable in training as well.
‘So I like the way in which he trains, his whole demeanour, and he’s scoring goals, which I really like.’

A 3-0 win over Wolves prior to the international break prolonged Chelsea’s unbeaten run to 4 games in a row in all competitions.
And after the house victory, Terry was also keen to single out one other summer signing, Garnacho, for his impressive showing at Stamford Bridge.
‘I also wish to touch on how good Garnacho was yesterday,’ Terry said on the weekend.
‘Absolutely petrifying as a defender whenever you’re facing someone that quick and that direct. He gives us something the opposite wingers don’t as well.
‘That’s what you would like to see as a Chelsea fan players like that beating players. It doesn’t all the time should be with a great deal of skill.
‘You may knock it past people whenever you’re that quick and put crosses within the box and make it difficult for defenders. I’m delighted with that.’
Chelsea face a visit to Burnley within the league after the international break before huge games against Barcelona and Arsenal at home.
