Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals are pursuing an all-cash take care of Sunrisers Hyderabad for Mohammed Shami, despite his recent fitness issues.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are reportedly attempting to persuade Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for an all-cash deal for fast bowler Mohammed Shami. In response to Cricbuzz, SRH are weighing their options, and a one-way trade to either of the teams is more likely than releasing Shami to the auction pool.
SRH snapped up Shami for ₹10 crore on the last mega auction in Jeddah, but he delivered modest returns — only six wickets at a mean of 56.17 and an economy of 11.23, well below his profession marks of 28.19 and eight.63, respectively. He has been affected by fitness issues because the 2023 ODI World Cup, which have recently snowballed right into a confrontation between him and the BCCI selectors.
The 35-year-old has served India tirelessly, including at that World Cup and his most up-to-date international task, the 2025 Champions Trophy. But in case you ask me, when it comes to fitness and skill, it’s the Mohammad Shami we all know of. So, I actually don’t see any reason why he can’t keep playing Test matches, One-day cricket, and T20 cricket for India. Because that skill is gigantic,” Ganguly added.
Shami has been representing West Bengal within the Ranji Trophy, taking 15 wickets in three matches to date. Nevertheless, as captain Shubman Gill indicated on Thursday, the team appears to be moving on with him.
“There aren’t many bowlers of Shami bhai’s quality. But if you have a look at the performances of others — guys like Akash Deep and Prasidh — and in addition what Siraj and Bumrah have done for us, it becomes a troublesome call,” he said. It’s never easy when someone like Shami bhai has to miss out, but at the identical time, we now have to plan ahead,” he added.
