Ex-UFC champ who fought Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka says 22-13 veteran was his ‘hardest’ fight

Jahmahal Hill has fought the easiest during his 11-fight run with MMA’s premier promotion.

‘Sweet Dreams’ knocked out Johnny Walker, Jimmy Crute, and Ovince St Preux en path to a light-weight heavyweight title shot.

Jamahal Hill became the 205lb UFC champion by outpointing Glover Teixeira over five rounds in January 2023.

Since then, the 34-year-old has suffered consecutive losses against Alex Pereira, Jiri Prochazka, and Khalil Rountree Jr. – but he says a 22-13 (1 NC) veteran gave him a harder fight than all of them.

Jamahal Hill names his hardest opponent

Jamahal Hill was asked to call his hardest opponent during an appearance on the Athletes Group Chat podcast.

“My hardest opponent? F—ing injuries,” Hill initially joked.

After a fast laugh at his bad luck with injuries, the 17-4 (1 NC) MMA star talked up Thiago Santos.

Hill was down on the scorecards before rallying to attain a fourth-round TKO win over the Brazilian veteran, who famously gave Jon Jones a scare after they fought for light heavyweight gold at UFC 239 in 2019.

“Na, the toughest fight I’d probably say I had was Santos, Thiago Santos,” Hill added.

“Simply because this was before any injuries or anything like that.

“That motherf—er got here with it, dog. He got here with it, bro.

“His shots, on camera, it was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to see those [coming].’

“But the way in which he was throwing them within the fight, it was type of hard to see.

“I assumed I had that b—- close, then bow! He clocked me. I’m like, ‘Rattling!’

“Swelled my s— up. You ever see any person’s eye swollen open?”

Jamahal Hill wants Jiri Prochazka rematch

Jamahal Hill announced he’ll be ‘out for a while’ following his third consecutive UFC defeat.

The Chicagoan is confident he’ll rebound from his current skid, however it is likely to be some time until he gets the possibility to accomplish that.

A rematch with Jiri Prochazka is at the highest of his wishlist heading into 2026.

“I’mma be honest, absolutely probably the most fun fight I’ve ever had was the fight with Jiri Prochazka,” Hill said on his YouTube channel in October.

“He’s a fun fight. There’s not many fights that I’ve ever enjoyed as much as I enjoyed the Jiri fight, granted I’d have wanted one other final result.

“That truly jogged my memory how much I actually love fighting. That’s the fight I would like again. I would like that fight back.

“Immediately, my biggest focus is getting healthy. I’m gonna be out for a while. I’m gonna need to get some things surgically fixed. I’m looking forward to being back and being the guy that I used to be.”
