Pep Guardiola has dismissed the impact of Arsenal’s draw against Sunderland on the Premier League title race, claiming ‘nothing is defined’ at this stage of the season.

Arsenal’s lead at the highest of the table was cut to 4 points before the international break after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland, while City sealed a powerful 3-0 win against Liverpool.

City could move to simply one point behind Arsenal in the event that they beat Newcastle United on Saturday evening before Mikel Arteta’s side host Tottenham in the primary north London derby of the season on Sunday.

Guardiola believes the top of the last international break of the 12 months signals the beginning of ‘the actual season’ and claims negative results after the Recent 12 months have more influence on teams chasing the Premier League title.

When asked about Arsenal’s draw against Sunderland and the impact it may well have on the title race, Guardiola replied: ‘The reality is a team as strong as Arsenal is within the last seasons, not only this season, so impeccable in so many, many things, that feeling that I had previously once we’ve fought incredibly against Liverpool, I had the sensation they’d not drop many points.

‘And in the event that they can take a number of distance, it should be difficult to meet up with them, similar like Liverpool last season.

‘We’ve had moments and experience in our careers, we benefit from nine, ten, twelve points, you play those games more easier, nothing will occur in the event you drop points and the others from behind must placed on incredible pressure and that’s why when the space is big it’s harder.

‘But at the identical time, we’re in November, in November, on this league, nothing is defined.

‘What happens in February and March, watch out, but now it’s the beginning of the season really, right? There’s two parts of the season, when the transfer window is over in the summertime and after the international break is over, now the international break is finished, so now we will probably be until March, see one another every three days.

‘Now the actual season starts. It’s necessary to be there and arrive at the top of the season with the sensation we are able to fight.’
