“My Recovery Is Going Pretty Well” – Mayank Yadav

India’s rising pace sensation Mayank Yadav, known for clocking a blistering 156.7 kmph in IPL 2024, has given a fresh update on his recovery ahead of IPL 2026. Recently retained by the Lucknow Super Giants before the upcoming mini auction, the 23-year-old reflected on his journey back from a recurring back injury that forced him out of the whole 2024–25 domestic season. Despite speculation that LSG might consider releasing him after he managed to play only two matches last 12 months—even after being retained for Rs 11 crore—the franchise showed faith and held on to the young quick. This decision, Mayank said, has strengthened his resolve to return stronger.

Gratitude Towards LSG Management And Owner Sanjiv Goenka

After undergoing surgery in Recent Zealand earlier this 12 months, Mayank revealed that his recovery has been progressing encouragingly. As he put it, “My recovery goes pretty much. I even have began bowling, and every little thing is heading in the right direction right away.” Emphasising his determination to contribute from the beginning of IPL 2026, he added, “I even have worked rather a lot on my fitness. Within the upcoming season, I’ll be available for the team from day one and hope to contribute to the team’s cause, right from the word go.”

Mayank highlighted how the franchise’s continued support during his repeated injury setbacks meant an ideal deal to him. Expressing his appreciation, he said, “Absolutely. It is a big thing for me, and I’m thankful that despite all of the setbacks resulting from injuries previously 2-3 seasons, LSG continues to be backing me. The team, the owner, has been with me all the time, each on and off the sector.” He further mentioned the private encouragement he received from the team owner, quoting, “In reality, the owner, Dr Sanjiv Goenka, gave me confidence that he’s there every time I want it or whatever I want in my life.”

Looking Forward To Bowling Alongside Mohammed Shami

Considered one of the most important positives for Mayank going into the subsequent season is the chance to play alongside senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who was traded from SRH to LSG before the retention deadline. Their association goes back to their rehab days on the National Cricket Academy, which Mayank fondly recalled when he said, “Shami Bhai was with me in rehab on the National Cricket Academy. I even have known him for the last one and a half years. It’ll be very exciting for me to share ends with him.” Along with his record-breaking 156.7 kmph delivery still fresh in memory, fans eagerly await the prospect of watching India’s young speedster back in full rhythm for IPL 2026.
