The second Test of the continuing two-match series between India and South Africa is going down at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. On the fifth day of the Test match, India must rating 522 more runs to chase down the goal of 549 runs and secure a famous win over the Proteas. If India fail to chase down the goal of 549 runs, then South Africa will seal the series. A win in Guwahati will help them turn out to be the primary team on this planet to whitewash India twice at home, and even when the match ends in a draw, they are going to still take the series with a scoreline of 1-0.
Ahead of India’s batting, legendary India spinner Anil Kumble, who also served as Test captain and head coach prior to now, said that he wants Indian players to walk the talk and show fight to avoid wasting the Test match.
“They may need to walk the talk. Abhi bhi mauka hai Bhartiya team ko; jab bhi mauka milta hai ballebaazi ka, thoda fight dikhana padega yaha pe Bharat ko (Now could be the time for the Indian team. Each time they get a likelihood to bat, they’ll have to point out a little bit little bit of fight here),” Kumble said when the broadcaster Anant Tyagi reminded him of Gambhir’s “we would like the team that may rating 400 in a day and likewise the team that may bat for 2 days to attract a Test” statement from October 2024.
Former India No. 3 Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara has also donned the hat of a commentator and expert, and based on him, India should take into consideration batting well moderately than winning the match.
“Lag raha hai ye match mein Bhartiya team ko jeetne ke liye nahi pehle achi ballebaazi karne ke liye sochna padega (I feel that on this match, the Indian team may have to take into consideration batting well first). Because ‘win’ is at the tip. And if you happen to have a look at the scorecard, when you’ve gotten greater than 400 runs in your mind, you don’t pay much attention to the batting. You pay more attention to the tip result. And your batting can never be good. So get that scorecard out of your mind. Each time you get a likelihood to bat there, just attempt to bat well. Every ball is essential on this condition. So listen to every ball. Try to construct a partnership. After which whatever result comes in the long run, you may see later. But first do a superb batting.”
