Paul believes that he will probably be the second coming of Ruiz, particularly on condition that Joshua’s chin has been weakened in other defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. And Ruiz reckons he has what it takes to land a giant right hand that may rating the fifth knockdown of the Brit’s profession.

“Get him with the fitting hand,” Ruiz continued. “That’s what Jake is searching for, the fitting hand. And if he lands he could do some good damage. A whole lot of people underestimate Jake Paul but in point of fact he’s a superb fighter and he’s dedicated, that’s what I like about him.”

Asked if the pair had been in contact, he replied: “I haven’t but I’m going to hit him up and take a look at to offer him some little pointers.” Ruiz also confirmed that he has a plan to return back to the ring in April.
