Before he directed The Batman, Matt Reeves helmed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the second film within the rebooted franchise. That is an incredibly well-made sci-fi story, and Reeves gives the story an epic quality. Caesar (Andy Serkis) can have been raised amongst humans, however the leader of the apes has learned to be wary of humanity for the reason that events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
There aren’t as many individuals as there was once, but this planet isn’t large enough for apes and humans alike. At the very least, that’s what it gave the impression of until Caesar met and bonded with Malcolm (Jason Clarke) and his family. That offers them hope for peace.
