For Jodie Foster, acting is just not a career she actively pursued.
“I’d never have chosen to be an actor, I don’t have the personality of an actor. I’m not anyone that desires to bounce on a table and, , sing songs for people,” the famed actress, 63, said during a conversation on the Marrakech Film Festival on Sunday, November 30, per Variety.
“It’s actually only a cruel job that was chosen for me as an adolescent that I don’t remember starting,” Foster, who first began appearing in commercials at just 3 years old before making her feature film debut at 6, continued. “So right there, it makes my work a bit of bit different because I’m not occupied with acting only for the sake of acting. If I used to be on a desert island, I believe probably the very last thing I’d ever do is act. So I used to be just attempting to survive.”
Foster explained that she finds herself “reaching out to the young child actors of this era” consequently of her own experience.
“I feel like, wait, where are their parents?” she said. “And why is no one telling them that they need to stop doing so many movies or perhaps not be so drunk on the red carpet? I would like to deal with them because I know the way dangerous it’s.”
