World of Warcraft’s next expansion, Midnight, finally has a release date: March 2, 2026. Those that have purchased any edition of the Midnight expansion can join a neighborhood, select a house, and begin customizing with Housing Early Access when the Midnight Prologue content update, The Warning, releases on December 2. When you haven’t purchased Midnight yet, you’ll still have the option to start adding to your Housing collection through activities and achievements or by purchasing items from vendors throughout Azeroth.
The Midnight expansion is obtainable in three flavors: Base ($49.99), Heroic ($69.99), and Epic ($89.99). The bottom edition includes World of Warcraft: The War Inside, early access to Housing, an Enhanced Level 80 Character Boost, and 500 Trader’s Tender. Upgrading to the Heroic Edition grants every thing from the Base Edition, in addition to the Lightwing Dragonhawk flying mount, the Lightstrider Raiment transmog set, and an extra 500 Trader’s Tender for 1,000 total.
The Epic Edition takes every thing from the Heroic Edition and adds Beta Access, three days Early Access to Midnight, and 30 days of game time. Players also get the Hopeflutter and Doomfeathers pets, the Voidlight Surger flying mount with dynamic color-changing effects, the Voidwing Dragonhawk flying mount, and the Voidstrider Raiment transmog set. That’s not all, because it includes the Midnight Housing Pack, featuring Rotundas, Fountains, and iconic character Paintings to customize your recent home in Azeroth. A further 1,000 Trader’s Tender is the icing on the cake, for a complete of two,000.
Blizzard has also opened up sign-ups for the Midnight beta test, which, again, is included with the Epic Edition of Midnight. Over the course of the test, invites might be sent to community veterans, press, fan sites, friends, and family to offer feedback on the upcoming expansion.
When you’re like me and haven’t played World of Warcraft in quite a while, Midnight is the subsequent chapter within the Worldsoul Saga, which was originally announced in November 2023. It brings Xal’atath, the Harbinger, who’s invading the elf homelands in Eversong Woods. In Midnight, adventurers get to enjoy a brand new level cap of 90 as they explore 4 recent and reimagined zones, including Eversong Woods, Zul’aman, Harandar, and Voidstorm. Midnight also brings recent Delves, eight recent dungeons, and three recent raids.
There’s a lengthy list of features which might be also recent to Midnight, including expanded talent trees with Apex talents, a revamped Silvermoon City, Prey, that are powerful targets throughout the zones of Midnight, and Arcantina, a magical tavern on the crossroads of nowhere and in all places. PvP veterans can look ahead to a brand new 40 vs. 40 Battleground called Slayer’s Rise, while newbies can undergo the Training Grounds to get their footing. In fact, there will even be recent activities, UI and transmogrification updates, and an updated leveling experience for each recent and returning players.
