Oleksandr Usyk names heavyweight legend he desires to fight next after being stripped of title

Oleksandr Usyk has named the one man he still desires to fight at heavyweight after an already legendary run.

When Usyk made the move as much as heavyweight back in 2019, there have been three fighters comfortably atop the division. Anthony Joshua had momentarily stumbled against Andy Ruiz Jr that June, but quickly rectified that result to reclaim the unified belts.

Usyk would go on to alleviate him of those belts just two fights into his heavyweight profession, before putting an exclamation point on it within the rematch. He then became undisputed by beating Tyson Fury, who was one other one in all those predominant names, which leaves just yet another icon of this heavyweight era left…

Oleksandr Usyk wants Deontay Wilder next after being stripped of title

Because the 2010s got here to an end and the 2020s began in earnest, the person widely considered the toughest hitter and most fearsome champion at heavyweight was Deontay Wilder. 40-0 with 39 KOs, the American had almost left Tyson Fury flat, just for the Brit to miraculously get better and snatch a draw.

Nonetheless, time has not been kind to Wilder since that first Fury fight, where his glaring weaknesses were first displayed. After two interim fights between his first and second fights with the Brit, he was shockingly knocked out by Fury in early 2020.

Since then, he was stopped again by Fury in a trilogy and after a vicious knockout of Robert Helenius suffered two more back-to-back defeats. Joseph Parker easily outscored him before Zhilei Zhang floored him inside five rounds.

Despite all of this, Usyk wants to present the ‘Bronze Bomber’ one last probability at gold within the division, telling : “I need to fight Deontay Wilder. I feel it’s interesting.

“It is a world champion guy, this can be a very famous guy, this can be a strong guy. “He’s one in all the good heavyweights of the last 10 years.”
