The Hundred franchise London Spirit is co-owned by Marylebone Cricket Club and Tech Titans.

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has joined London Spirit because the Hundred franchise’s mentor and batting coach, the team management announced on Wednesday.
This marks Karthik’s first enterprise right into a support staff role outside the Indian Premier League, where he serves in an identical capability with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Mo Bobat, Spirit’s director of cricket, expressed his delight at Karthik’s appointment, stating, “It’s a pleasure to welcome DK to the London Spirit. He’s a very original thinker, and his vast experience in short-format and franchise cricket shall be invaluable to us. He’s also great fun to work with and brings an infectious energy and enthusiasm to the whole lot he does.”
Bobat, who also holds the position of director of cricket at RCB, emphasised the positive impact Karthik is predicted to have on the team.
Though Karthik has concluded his playing profession post the IPL 2024, he continues to take part in other leagues. The 40-year-old is currently a part of the Sharjah Warriorz roster within the UAE’s ILT20 and had previously played for Paarl Royals within the SA20.
Karthik shared his excitement about joining London Spirit, saying, “What an exciting time to be joining London Spirit. Once I heard in regards to the plans and the ambitions of Mo, MCC, and the Tech Titans, I used to be really enthusiastic to hitch. To spend the English summer working at Lord’s is actually a dream come true. It’s the bottom where I made my debut for India and played my last Test match – Lord’s could be very near my heart. I can’t wait to see the squad come together and work with some exceptional cricketers next 12 months.”
Having played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is for India, Karthik goals to assist Spirit reach their maiden Hundred final.
