David Moyes has shared an update on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after the Everton star got here off injured in the course of the 2-0 loss at Chelsea on Saturday.

The Blues ended their four-game win-less run with a cushty victory at Stamford Bridge, with Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto finding the back of the web before half-time.

Everton got here to west London hopeful of an excellent result after winning three of their last 4, with Dewsbury-Hall arguably the Premier League’s form player.

The midfielder had recorded three goals and two assists within the last five matches and would have been hoping to haunt Enzo Maresca’s side after being sold to the Toffees last summer.

Nonetheless, his return to the Bridge got here to an end after just 16 minutes, with the 27-year-old taking place off the ball and clutching the back of his leg, appearing to suffer a hamstring injury.

The Englishman was consoled by his former Chelsea captain Reece James and was in a position to hobble off the pitch and down the tunnel, replaced by Carlos Alcaraz.

But Moyes looked visibly concerned on the touchline and later revealed that Dewsbury-Hall was not 100 per cent going into the match.

‘I’ll discover later what it’s, he had a little bit of tightness already after which he felt it in the course of the game,’ the manager told Sky Sports.

He later told BBC Match of the Day: ‘Losing Kiernan was a blow to us but I assumed we adapted quite well.

‘I do know we’ve come away with a disappointing result nevertheless it wasn’t a disappointing performance. We did plenty of really good things today.’

The defeat at Chelsea leaves Everton eighth within the table on the time of writing, with the Toffees set to host league leaders Arsenal next Saturday night.

The games then come thick and fast for Moyes’ men, who travel to Burnley and Nottingham Forest before kicking-off the brand new yr at home against Brentford and Wolves.

To make matters tougher, Everton are set to be without more key players who’re heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

‘It is going to be difficult to switch [Iliman] Ndiaye and Gana [Idrissa Gueye], each are sensible players who’ve done well,’ Moyes added.

‘But whenever you sign African players you’ve gotten to simply accept they are going to go to Afcon. We would like them to do well for his or her countries.’
