Belal Muhammad argues that he’s ahead of Kamaru Usman in welterweight title pecking order

2025 hasn’t been an amazing yr for Belal Muhammad’s profession, with him ending 2024 because the welterweight champion before suffering back-to-back losses.

Muhammad even made the case that he needs to be ahead of Usman within the pecking order, claiming that he shouldn’t receive this chance after turning down other matchups.

“We see Islam [Makhachev] planting the seeds of Usman needs to be the following guy. I mean, obviously, they’ve the identical manager. Obviously the manager has been planting seeds in his head of what he thinks needs to be next. Do I believe Usman is a better matchup for him? In fact.

“The guy’s fought one time in three years and he’s 1-3. I’m still ahead of you, regardless that I lost my last two fights, I’m still 2-2. You’ll be able to talk, you possibly can whatever you would like. You turned down a fight, you didn’t wish to fight and I don’t think it should earn you a title fight whenever you’re saying no to fights.”

Belal Muhammad names who he believes should fight Islam Makhachev next

Belal Muhammad also stated in his video that he believes Michael Morales is essentially the most deserving contender at welterweight at once.

Morales recently revealed information in regards to the conversations for his next fight which suggested that he won’t be next for Islam Makhachev.

Muhammad, like many others, believes that the surging contender’s huge knockout at UFC 322 must have cemented his status as the following in line.

“Who do I believe deserves it? Who do I believe has earned it? I believe Michael Morales of course has earned it. Beating a man like Sean Brady, being undefeated, ending Sean Brady. I mean, what else more do you could have to do?”
