The fourth T20I between India and South Africa in Lucknow was abandoned without toss as a consequence of excessive fog.

Serious questions are being raised over the scheduling of the continued five-match T20I series between India and South Africa after a contest in Lucknow was abandoned with out a toss because of “excessive fog”. Naturally, the fans who had gathered on the venue for the match were left upset, with several demanding refunds.

The competition was scheduled to get underway from 7 PM IST however the toss was delayed as a consequence of low visibility, with the stadium enveloped by a thick blanket of fog. Nonetheless, after as many as six inspections, the match was eventually called off.

The players of the 2 teams had began warming up prior to the toss but left the sector for his or her respective dressing rooms. India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was even spotted wearing a mask when on the sector.

One fan claimed he sold wheat to look at the sport but now wants a refund.

“I sold three sacks of wheat and got here here to look at this match. I would like my a reimbursement,” news agency ANI quoted one spectator as saying.

One other fan said, “It could have been higher if the match had been scheduled earlier within the day. Tickets and reimbursement are irrelevant. We desired to see the match, see our Indian Cricket Team.”

Matches held at most north zone venues have historically been affected by weather conditions throughout the winter months.

As per the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) policy, refunds (minus fees) are issued if a match is cancelled or abandoned before a single ball is bowled.

Final T20I In Ahmedabad

India lead the five-match series 2-1 following their victories in Cuttack and Dharamsala. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side now cannot lose the series, with the fifth and final T20I to be held on Friday in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, there are reports of India T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill possibly missing the rest of the series with a toe injury. The hosts have already been hit by fitness issues, with all-rounder Axar Patel ruled out after the third T20I as a consequence of illness and replaced by Shahbaz Ahmed.
