A recent UFC title fight was one-sided as a result of one key aspect of the matchup.
Nick Diaz appropriately predicted that wrestling would proceed to dominate MMA as a result of his belief that the scoring system is geared towards this skillset.
Famed for his boxing skills, the UFC legend was no stranger to people attempting to nullify his striking on the ground and having to try and stop that.
Diaz recently returned to training and appears to have moved past the health issues that had fans and his fellow fighters concerned about him.
In a recent video, the previous welterweight title challenger referenced a fight that took place last yr when using his experience to show other competitors.

Nick Diaz says Jack Della Maddalena lost his UFC title as a result of one major mistake
In a recent video posted by Jake Shields, Nick Diaz criticized a former UFC champion for not executing a method before losing his belt.
The fan favorite was seen coaching techniques at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas when he used a recent title fight to elucidate what he was attempting to teach.
In November, Islam Makhachev defeated Jack Della Maddalena to win the welterweight belt by racking up over 19 minutes of control time.
Diaz was explaining how a fighter on bottom needs to make use of their leverage to interrupt an opponent’s grip across the back of their head and the way the defending champion at UFC 322 didn’t do that.

“That is like currently what’s happening,” he told his students. “You watch the fight with Islam and the f—— Australian and the poor guy is like, I don’t feel sorry for him. I need to say like, ‘Rattling’, but I’m such as you didn’t learn the best way to return and systematically understand why a black belt is passing your guard.”
Makhachev’s approach was labelled as boring by some as a result of the period of time he spent on top of Della Maddalena.
While Diaz said that he’s “not f—— Islam” and that he would have passed the guard to threaten a submission, he believes that it was on ‘JDM’ to know that his opponent would do that and counter it.
“This guy, who had zero losses, he didn’t f—— understand that and I had to observe this fight for five f—— rounds,” he continued. “A title fight between the 2 ‘best fighters on the planet’.”

Islam Makhachev knew he had Jack Della Maddalena beat at one point of their fight
While Jack Della Maddalena was in a position to keep himself protected on the underside, many questioned his preparations for UFC 322 and whether he got here in with the flawed approach.
It looked just like the defending welterweight champion quickly ran out of options of the best way to keep Islam Makhachev off of him once the challenger denied them.

The Russian said similar things in a recent interview with MatchTV where he spoke about what was going through his mind in the course of the fight.
“Once I took him down and saw him try that very same reversal [that worked against Belal Muhammad] on me, I used to be already prepared for it and defended it,” Makhachev said in a clip reported by Championship Rounds. “That’s when I spotted he had nothing else besides that move.
“I said to myself: ‘That’s it? You haven’t learned anything? You don’t have every other skills to get back to your feet?’ That’s after I understood he was going to be there for a very long time.”
