Paddy Pimblett shouldn’t be on board with Ilia Topuria’s plan to return to the Octagon this coming April.
This coming Saturday, ‘The Baddy’ will compete in his first UFC fundamental event when he takes on Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324.
Fans were expecting Dana White to announce a fight between Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett for the primary event of the brand new Paramount era, but ‘El Matador’ declared that he’s taking a hiatus from the game to take care of personal matters.
And after fans questioned when we are going to see the 28-year-old champion back within the cage, Topuria confirmed his comeback plan last week.
Will Paddy Pimblett’s lack of discipline come back to haunt him at UFC 324?

Pimblett tells Topuria he’s ‘gonna should wait’
Nearly all of the UFC fanbase is hopeful that the Englishman is victorious this coming Saturday in order that it sets up a fight between the 2 longtime rivals.
And although Topuria is plotting a return in April to June, ‘The Baddy’ has other ideas and has shut down the concept of a title unification fight that soon.
“He’s not getting me back in April, lad. He’s gonna should wait, he made me wait, he can wait just a few months, April shouldn’t be happening, lad,” Pimblett told TMZ Sports.
“Yeah, (I’ll fight later within the 12 months), I’m not fighting in April, lad, he can eat s—. I’ll fight him in like, July, June or July.”
In fairness to ‘The Baddy’, a turnaround from January to April can be extremely quick, and particularly considering Pimblett’s tendency to explode in weight out of camp, is incredibly unlikely.
Every July, the promotion hosts their annual International Fight Week event which is normally headlined by a marquee fight, and with Pimblett posing July as a possible date for a unification fight, it could possibly be the right fight.
‘The Baddy’ has a tricky task ahead first
Nonetheless, before Pimblett can consider turning down Topuria’s ideas, he must get past the extremely tough test that’s ‘The Highlight’.

It’s undeniable that Gaethje shall be by far the hardest test of Pimblett’s profession so far, as he has earned an interim title shot without fighting a single fighter currently ranked contained in the top 10 of the lightweight rankings.
