Chris Jericho has been the talk of the town in WWE over the past few weeks as many persons are expecting the previous AEW World Champion to return to the corporate after his AEW contract expired at the top of 2025. Nonetheless, thus far in 2026, we now have seen three episodes of “WWE Raw,” three episodes of “WWE SmackDown,” and there was no sign of Jericho anywhere, but could that each one change this weekend as “SmackDown” and Saturday Night’s Most important Event happen in Jericho’s home country of Canada?
The reply, no less than based on Mike Johnson of PWInsider, isn’t any. Johnson has reported that Jericho will likely not be at either the January 23 episode of “SmackDown” or the Saturday Night’s Most important Event show on January 24, each of which occur in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The rationale being that Jericho is definitely booked to perform at JAMM Night on the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California alongside his band Fozzy on January 23. Jericho and the band look to stay in California over the weekend, meaning that outside of a serious last minute change, Jericho won’t be appearing on WWE TV this weekend.
While Jericho has not featured on WWE TV just yet, it has been heavily rumored that he will probably be returning to the corporate for his first appearance in eight years. Various fans expected him to be on the January 5 episode provided that “WWE Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce kept referencing “Breaking the partitions down,” which was the title of Jericho’s entrance theme in WWE. Nonetheless, Jericho was not on the show, and Pearce’s reference was meant to be related to the “Stranger Things” TV show, which had a promotional tie-in with that night’s episode of “Raw.” Jericho can still be seen on the AEW roster page on the corporate’s official website, but since he has not been factored into any plans with AEW, nobody is expecting him to return.
