Back in December 2025, a tweet surfaced online claiming that Kai Cenat’s girlfriend on the time, Gabrielle ‘Gigi,’ Alayah was allegedly messing around with NBA YoungBoy. The tweet read, “There are some rumors going around that Kai Cenat’s girlfriend Gigi is cheating on him with NBA YoungBoy via DJ Akademiks on his live stream.”
Following the rumors and Kai announcing their breakup a couple of days later, DJ Akademiks went live to clear the air after his name was thrown in the combo.
“I ain’t say this sh*t. That is fake. I never made this up. I don’t know what page that is. They only created this. They do that once in a while. They know I’m the news guy. I’m like TMZ in certain circles, in order that they’re gonna say that is the source.”
He continued by addressing his status and standing firm on his stance. “And by the way in which, the people also fidgeting with my status, Akademiks don’t lie about nothing, because if I said that, I might stand on it, and if y’all ask me, I’ll show proof. But I ain’t said that, because I don’t know what’s occurring. Ever since then, I’ve tried to do some due diligence. However it’s not for me to talk on. I don’t give a f***. DJ Akademiks Alleges NBA YoungBoy Reached Out To Kai Cenat To Set The Record Straight
Now, here we’re in 2026, and it appears the tea continues to be brewing. Akademiks recently returned to his stream, claiming that when the rumors first surfaced, he personally reached out to Kai Cenat but never received a response.
He also alleged that NBA YoungBoy attempted to contact Kai to set the record straight, reportedly telling him he never messed with Gigi. In accordance with Akademiks, those attempts also allegedly went unanswered.
Coming to YoungBoy’s defense, Akademiks said, “That’s not his character. He don’t need to mess with a streamer’s girlfriend simply to say he did it. He didn’t do it. He tried to succeed in out to you personally, my brother. He felt like that conversation was turned down.”
He continued, explaining that Kai’s fan base ran with the rumor, adding, “You gotta realize, you bought a fan base who’s type of feeling like he did something. That’s the identical reason I reached out to you.” Akademiks went on to specific that Kai should publicly clear each his and YoungBoy’s names as an alternative of letting the rumors linger. He also alleged that YoungBoy felt a way in regards to the situation, believing the silence allowed false narratives to proceed spreading.
