“Well, I wanted to provide you an exclusive here since it’s you. Now, I don’t know if I’m gonna come to the reunion to be totally honest with you,” Rapaport said, to which Cohen replied, questioning why Rapaport would not attend.

“I don’t know. why, Andy? Because, you realize, I feel like, you realize, everybody got to know me. Like when individuals are like, you realize, acting like I’m some freak, it’s offensive to me because we spent…” he said.

Rapaport’s position on “The Traitors” reunion comes per week after the outspoken media personality generated headlines during his feud with “Bachelor” alum Underwood.

After sparring throughout the episode, things between the 2 daring contestants reached the purpose of no return when Rapaport said that “no one on this room could be higher at holding a secret than you”—a press release many believed was in reference to Underwood’s coming-out story in April 2021.

Rapaport’s co-stars defended Underwood in the course of the episode, banishing him from the sport after scolding him for what they perceived as a private dig on the “Coming Out Colton” star.

Viewers also blasted Rapaport online, labeling him “homophobic” for his words.

Michael Rapaport Clarifies Comments In Recent Interview

In accordance with The Blast, Rapaport apologized to Underwood after the show wrapped for his hurtful comments. In a recent interview, he clarified the intent behind his words, adding they’d “nothing to do” with Underwood’s sexuality.

“I assumed that he was a Traitor, and I used to be riffing,” Rapaport said. “I used to be going at him because he was going at me, and I felt defensive, and I used to be doing my best to deflect the entire attention, which had been on me the previous 4 roundtables.”

Rapaport added that he was “annoyed” by Underwood’s tactics in the sport.

“I used to be just flowing, I used to be just talking,” he said. “I used to be talking about him being conniving, cowardly, and commiserating. Those words are thrown around so much during this game: lying, secrets, dishonest, deceitful, betrayal.”

That wasn’t all Rapaport needed to say in regards to the explosive showdown, noting he felt “completely misunderstood” and “gaslit” by his co-stars.

“I felt that they didn’t understand what I used to be saying. And I feel that if the conversation had stuck to only me and Colton, it would not have gotten to the extent that it got to, because I feel like I acknowledged it and apologized right there,” he said.

The “Prison Break” actor also admitted he regretted his comments.

“It obviously did offend him and another people on the table, and it caused and brought negative attention to his world and his young family. It obviously brought negative attention to my life. It brought negative attention to the show, and it is not what my intention was,” Rapaport said.

Underwood Thought He Would ‘Die’ With Sexuality Being A Secret

Underwood made headlines in April 2021 when he publicly got here out as gay.

Shortly after coming out, the truth star starred in a Netflix docuseries about his identity, confessing he thought he was going to “die with this secret” of being gay.
