Cricket Scotland’s sensible response to the confirmation that they’ve replaced Bangladesh within the 2026 T20 World Cup has gone viral.

Cricket Scotland had an epic response to the confirmation that they’ve replaced Bangladesh within the 2026 T20 World Cup. Inside minutes, they posted photos of a number of the international stars during an indoor training session with the caption ‘At all times ready’.
Bangladesh withdrew from the 20-team tournament citing security concerns. This was despite the ICC’s assurance that there have been no threats in keeping with their assessment.
Cricket Scotland’s chief executive, Trudy Lindblade, on Saturday expressed gratitude to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for inviting Scotland to the tournament, saying they were ‘preparing to reach in India immediately.’
“Earlier today, I received correspondence from the ICC asking if our men’s team would play on the Men’s T20 World Cup, and now we have accepted,” Lindblade announced on the board’s website. “We’re grateful to the ICC for extending this invite. That is an exciting opportunity for Scotland’s players to compete on the worldwide stage in front of hundreds of thousands of supporters. We also acknowledge this chance has arisen out of difficult and unique circumstances.
“Our squad have been training for some weeks in preparation for upcoming tours and at the moment are preparing to reach in India imminently to acclimatise to local conditions, able to play and contribute to what needs to be a improbable ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” she added.
In an official statement, the board confirmed that Scotland have been slotted into Group C following Bangladesh’s withdrawal, adding that further information on squad selection can be communicated shortly.
Board chairman Wilf Walsh revealed that the confirmation got here directly from ICC chairman Jay Shah, who informed him of Scotland’s inclusion within the event.
Walsh said he was joyful to simply accept the invitation on behalf of the team, stressing that the players are prepared and desirous to tackle the challenge at the worldwide event. He also expressed gratitude to the ICC for extending the chance, noting that Scotland are enthusiastic about testing themselves against top international sides when the tournament is staged in India in the approaching weeks.
