The Government of India announced the Padma Awards for 2026 on Sunday. They’ve recognised 131 civilians across the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri categories. The list features several outstanding figures from public life. Notably, late actors Dharmendra and Satish Shah will receive posthumous honours. Dharmendra will receive the Padma Vibhushan, and Satish Shah will receive the Padma Shri.

As well as, Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty can be awarded the Padma Bhushan. Veteran playback singer Alka Yagnik and the late promoting legend Piyush Pandey have been chosen for the Padma Bhushan. R. Madhavan and Bengali cinema stalwart Prosenjit Chatterjee are among the many Padma Shri recipients.

About Padma Awards
The Padma Awards acknowledge excellence across various fields. It includes art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, industry, medicine, literature, education, sports, and civil service. Announced annually on Republic Day, the awards for 2026 were approved by the President. It comprises 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards.
This yr’s list includes 90 women awardees: 6 individuals from foreign categories reminiscent of NRI, PIO, and OCI, and 16 posthumous honorees.
