Team India players together with the support staff marked Republic Day by watching the Bollywood film Border 2 in Vizag on Monday, January 26. The team outing took place ahead of the fourth match of the five-game T20I series against Mitchell Santner-led Latest Zealand, set to be played on Wednesday, January 28, in Visakhapatnam.
Released on January 23, the movie features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh in outstanding roles. A video shared on X by fan account @rushiii_12 showed the players and support staff stepping off their bus and heading into the cinema hall. You possibly can watch the video here:

Meanwhile, India were in complete control within the third match of the series, held on Sunday, January 25, in Guwahati. In pursuit of 154, Abhishek Sharma (68* off 20) and Suryakumar Yadav (57* off 26) placed on a shocking display because the hosts wrapped up the chase with eight wickets to spare and 10 overs remaining.
The emphatic victory also helped the Men in Blue clinch the series, racing to an unbeatable 3-0 lead with two matches yet to be played.
Shreyas Iyer Stays With India As Tilak Varma Ruled Out Of Final Two T20Is
Tilak Varma was originally included in India’s squad for the T20I series against Latest Zealand, however the BCCI announced on January 8 that he would miss the primary three matches after undergoing surgery for an abdominal problem, with Shreyas Iyer brought in as his substitute.
Ahead of the fourth T20I, set to be played on January 28, the board confirmed on January 26 that Iyer will proceed with the squad for the remaining matches, as Tilak stays unavailable. The BCCI stated:
“India batter Tilak Varma has resumed physical training and is making regular progress together with his rehabilitation on the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Nevertheless, he would require additional time to regain full match fitness and is not going to be available for the ultimate two T20Is of the continued IDFC First Bank five-match T20I series.”
“Tilak will link up with the squad in Mumbai once he has regained full match fitness on third February, ahead of India’s warm-up match for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.”
