Eddie Hearn claims Dana White ‘doesn’t know an ideal deal’ about boxing as rivals’ meeting falls through

A scarcity of interest from White has been a critique made by fans for the previous few years, and it was touched on by his rival promoter.

“We’re going war, it’s that straightforward, but that’s okay,” Hearn said of their relationship. “They won’t think I’m a threat, and I’d think I’m significantly better than them, it doesn’t really matter nevertheless it doesn’t should.

“We’re going to be talking, and we may do some stuff together, or we could keep fighting for the way long it lasts. But once I see him speak about boxing – and I don’t mean this disrespectfully – he doesn’t really know an ideal deal concerning the fighters or the game because it is.

“But I see a man that’s 100 per cent invested in UFC and probably not that invested in boxing, if I’m honest. 
Because when he’s doing when he’s sitting within the war room or whatever he’s, and he’s like ‘What’s up, guys?’ I’m engaged.

“But whenever you’re at a press conference and also you’ve got some notes here and it’s, like, ‘we’ve got a ten round fight, um, this guy…’ I’m considering ‘I’m not interested’…

“Sales is a transfer of emotion. Right? So once I’m selling to you, that emotion is what’s going to make you purchase it or grow to be invested in what I’m selling.
And when you’re not, when you don’t have that emotion, and that fireside in your heart, it’s just not the identical.

“That’s probably what you see. Listen, it could be the identical for me if I went into MMA and I used to be talking about, you recognize ‘we’ve got a man on the undercard here’. I don’t know enough about it. I can’t offer you the ins and outs of the industry and what’s been happening for the last 15 years.

“I do know every rating system, every fighter within the rankings, all of the records, I’m an encyclopedia. Similar to he could probably sit up and speak about a UFC fighter, could he undergo their profession and all that form of stuff?

“I believe it’s a bit bit unfair, simply to say he doesn’t appear to be he’s bothered or has that keenness for it. I just don’t think it means as much to him as his baby, which is the UFC.”

Despite their newly-frosty relationship, the pair almost met up for a friendly catch-up last week. The pair were each promoting in Las Vegas over the weekend, with Hearn putting on a show at Fontainebleau on Saturday night opposite UFC 324.

Unfortunately, inclement weather meant that Hearn had limited options to get to Recent York City for this weekend’s Madison Square Garden headliner between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson. In consequence, the time that suited White was after his one slot for travel.

“I messaged Dana to fulfill him, I believe he messaged to fulfill yesterday. But I had a flight, we needed to get to Recent York, because we had a slot that we could only take off on and if we didn’t make that, who knows once we’d have gotten here?

“So I didn’t manage to meet up with him, but we were going to… I messaged him first on Saturday… So, we were presupposed to meet yesterday, but things are good.”
