Tyra Banks Appears To Discuss The Public’s Criticism Of The Show In Upcoming Netflix Documentary ‘Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model’
On Monday, January 26, Netflix’s official account on X, formerly often called Twitter, shared a minute-and-a-half-long clip together with the caption, “…Tyra Banks, Jay Manuel, Nigel Barker, Miss J Alexander and former contestants are featured in an explosive recent documentary about America’s Next Top Model, one of the vital popular — and controversial — reality shows of all-time.”
Moreover, the clip recounts memorable moments from the show’s 24 seasons. From the glam moments to the not-so-glam moments, the trailer included apparent bodyshaming that occurred throughout the show, makeovers that included medical — but botched — dental work, alleged sexual harassment, and apparent physical stunts and injuries.
“I knew I went too far,” Banks tells viewers in a single clip before adding. “It was very, very intense. But you guys were demanding it. And so we kept pushing. More. And more. And more.”
In lower than 24 hours, the tweet with the trailer has gained over 9 million views.
“I haven’t really said much, but now it’s time.”

Social Media Discusses Tyra Banks’ Apparent Response & More
Social media users then slid into TSR’s comment section with reactions to Tyra Banks’ apparent response to the criticism and the trailer for the documentary, which premieres on February 16.
Instagram user @ohhthatsyanaa wrote, “I truthfully feel like Tyra’s behavior is/was no different than how Gordan Ramsey and Simon Powell talked to their contestants or show guests…”
While Instagram user @augustblue93 added, “Unpopular opinion, the style industry might be much more toxic, and Tyra was just preparing them”
Instagram user @prettyadree wrote, “Janice Dickinson was actually the one who was giving it to them EXACTLY how the industry is. Tyra actually showed some compassion 😂”
While Instagram user @johnesha_knowsrealty added, “Wait… were we watching the identical America’s Next Top Model? Because Tyra literally did nothing mistaken. She prepared those models for the industry, flagged health concerns, and all the time made sure everyone—plus-size or not—felt confident and cozy of their skin. She wasn’t talking right down to anyone; she was teaching them real-world modeling standards with care…”
Meanwhile, on X, users chimed in, but seemingly with a largely different stance.

Two ‘ANTM’ Contestants Speak Out In Response To Netflix Documentary Trailer For ‘Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model’
Hours after the trailer was shared via X, Adrianne Curry, the season one winner of ‘ANTM,’ took to the platform to share her thoughts on the show. Curry looked as if it would imply that she was not a component of the documentary by her own decision.
“I’m deeply grateful I won the primary season of top model. i believe people psychoanalyzing it over 20 years later with a woke lens is absurd. I don’t trust people to not manipulate things I say for television, so i decline all the things,” she wrote. “Also, the general public is cult-like and cruel, so the final thing I need is a bunch of eyeballs on me. I hope the opposite girls do not need their words twisted of their netflix show.”
Moreover, Curry appeared to agree when an X user wrote that they imagine the documentary shall be a “s**t show.”
I feel the identical way…I worry concerning the girls from my season who agreed to do it

Meanwhile, one other contestant from the show, Keenyah Hill, who appeared on season 4 and won third place, weighed in in TSR’s comment section.
“Really hoping the producers don’t twist our words to suit the narrative 🙏🏾✨,” she wrote, confirming her appearance within the documentary.
