Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura has seen the rumors about his dating life, and he’s able to shut them down.
It began when an Instagram account named Durant, which has a history of sharing less-than-truthful information, posted a photograph appearing to indicate Hachimura, 27, together with his arm around rapper and singer Doja Cat.
“RUMOR: Doja Cat & Rui Hachimura are allegedly dating after fans have been speculating that she’s dating an NBA player 👀 Are they a superb couple?” the caption to the Wednesday, January 28 post read.
The highest comment, with greater than 24,000 likes and 1,000 replies as of Thursday afternoon, January 29, was from Hachimura himself.
“Mann f*** no😂,” Hachimura wrote.
The Lakers star tends to maintain his personal life to himself, but he’s believed to be dating Los Angeles-based fitness influencer Briana Delgado. The pair has been linked since 2021, but they keep their social media accounts related to their jobs, making it hard to trace in the event that they are still together.
Doja Cat, 30, has also kept her love life private. She is believed to be dating Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn, though the 2 have never officially confirmed their relationship. In a September 2025 interview with The Latest York Times, Doja Cat said that she is “just having fun” and “allowing things to occur.”
“As a daughter of a single mother caring for two kids, romance is something that I feel is my life lesson since it’s not something that was ever really there,” she added.
Before Quinn, Doja Cat was linked to comedian J.Cyrus from 2022 to 2023 and French Montana from 2020 to 2022.
The Durant account followed up later within the day, highlighting Hachimura’s denial.
“BREAKING: Lakers forward Rui Hachimura denies Doja Cat dating rumors, after speculation has circulated the 2 have been dating recently 👀,” the caption read. “It seems that Rui’s recent improvements on the court are because of something else 🤔 💭”
On the time, Hachimura was within the midst of a red-hot two-game stretch through which he averaged 20 points per game and made eight of his 12 three-point attempts. The Lakers then faced the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, losing 129-99. Hachimura went 0-7 from the sector and didn’t rating in that game.
Since getting back from a calf injury, Hachimura has been relegated to a bench role with the Lakers, even now that he is not any longer under a minutes restriction. He said it has been an adjustment.
“Coming off the bench, the sport is already going,” Hachimura told the Los Angeles Times in a story published Tuesday, January 27. “So I type of know the way necessary [it is] to type of be extra aggressive [more] than usual.”
He also still has the arrogance of his coach, JJ Redick.
“No one’s going to care in the event you were a starter or got here off the bench at the top of the season or at the top of your profession,” Redick said. “Just be a superb basketball player. He’s a superb basketball player.”
