Michael Carrick has confirmed that Patrick Dorgu can be out for several weeks for Manchester United attributable to a hamstring injury.
Dorgu was forced off after scoring within the second half of United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal last Sunday.
Reports this week suggested that Dorgu could possibly be absent for around 10 weeks, meaning that the 21-year-old is more likely to miss a minimum of eight games for United.
‘Pat, unfortunately, he’s going to be out for a time period,’ Carrick said on Friday.
‘We’re still working through how long that’s going to be.

‘We’ll need to see, [it is] disappointing, he’s had such a giant couple of weeks, Pat. We weren’t sure whether it was slightly little bit of cramp or whether it was something slightly bit more serious, and in the intervening time it looks slightly bit more on the intense note.

‘So, it’ll be a number of weeks for that. What number of weeks? We’ll need to wait and see. So, that’s disappointing for all of us really, and for Pat, he’s in such an excellent place, but unfortunately it is a component of football and it’s something we’ve started working through and get him back as soon as we will.’

Elsewhere, Carrick confirmed that Joshua Zirkzee returned to training this week ahead of United’s Premier League game at home to Fulham on Sunday.
‘Yeah, Josh is back training this week, which is sweet news,’ Carrick said.
‘Obviously, first time… so he’s been out for a brief period of time, but first form of training with us since we’ve been here, in order that’s great to have Josh back.
‘Josh has just been attempting to work and get fit across the group. He trained yesterday for the primary time and that’s so far as it goes with me and Josh.
‘I’m looking forward to working with him and nothing more must be said.’
Carrick also confirmed that Matthijs de Ligt has not yet returned to full training attributable to his back injury.
