Harbhajan Singh has challenged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to indicate the ‘guts’ to undergo with their threat of boycotting the February 15 group stage match against India within the 2026 men’s T20 World Cup. The previous spinner accused the country of going against the needs of its residents simply to ‘show arrogance’.
The Pakistani government announced via its social media channels that it had given its green light to the lads’s team to take part in the tournament, but instructed it to not take the sphere within the India match. CNN-News18 had earlier reported that that is being seen as Pakistan’s political posturing to supply a stand of ‘solidarity’ for Bangladesh, which were ejected out of the World Cup after refusing to travel to India.
“What profit are you going to get from this?” Harbhajan said in a video on his YouTube channel. “That is just to indicate arrogance. In the event you really think that you may do something like this, then be adamant. Let’s see when you really have the center. It is a total drama created to mislead people into considering that they’re standing with Bangladesh. There’s no problem with that, but what have you ever thought concerning the people of your country who want the India-Pakistan match to occur?”
The ICC has hinted at sanctions and asked the federal government to reconsider, while also saying its yet to receive a confirmation from the PCB.
‘Where was the patriotism in Asia Cup?’
Harbhajan questioned PCB’s hypocrisy, too, asking why it didn’t show the identical ‘patriotism’ by boycotting the Asia Cup, and threatened ICC’s ‘justice’.
“This match was presupposed to be played at a neutral venue, and there was no dispute with you. When there was a war recently, you played the Asia Cup despite that. There was the drama concerning the trophy, however the matches did occur because you weren’t ready to depart that revenue. In the event you are such a patriot, where was your patriotism there? So, you didn’t have any feelings on your country, but you now need to stand with another country.”
“Just wait for the ICC to do justice. There may be a possibility that you’re going to face sanctions, fines, and perhaps you won’t get to host an ICC tournament ever again,” he added.
