Terence Crawford stands firm on retirement despite recent rumors
Having competed in the ultimate fight of his profession under the promotion of Turki Alalshikh and Dana White, the boxing legend got a taste for what things might be like.
The UFC boss has now launched his own boxing league and continues to look for giant names to compete under his Zuffa Boxing banner.
And never too way back, White claimed that he plans on giving Crawford a call in just a few months time in an try and tempt him out of retirement.
Nonetheless, it’s going to likely be a tricky task for the brand new boxing promoter, as Crawford is seemingly standing firm on his retirement.
Crawford has been recently energetic promoting the fight that took place between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez, and through considered one of the face offs between the 2, ‘Bud’ seemingly clashed with Lopez’s father.
“Man, he was just doing a whole lot of clown stuff,” Crawford told The Pivot.
“So I said, ‘Stop doing that dumb s—‘ man. For one, I’m not fighting your son so why are you coming at me doing all these antics at me, like I’m not fighting your son, I’m retired, leave me alone. Leave me alone.
“I’m not fighting… People make all these clown gestures to get attention,” he continued.
Boxing retirements don’t all the time last long
Although the 38-year-old is currently standing firm on his boxing retirement, we’re in an era where boxing retirements don’t last too long.
One among the largest examples of that’s Tyson Fury consistently breaking his boxing retirement to make his comeback to the game.
And with the growing influence of exhibition and influencer boxing, an enormous offer could come Crawford’s way that is simply too good to reject.
