Nandish Singh Sandhu On TV Actors Facing Bias in Bollywood
Nandish Singh Sandhu, who began his acting journey with the TV show Kasturi, spoke concerning the treatment of television actors in movies. When asked whether TV actors face mistreatment within the film industry, Nandish said, “We cannot generalize that. Every part could be very individualistic. Agar hum ise aise generalise karenge ki TV actor ko kaise dekha jata hai, toh I don’t think that’s the best approach to do it. Because har insaan ki apni journey hoti hai. It also relies on who you’re meeting, the way you carry yourself, what sort of work you set into your craft, and how much personality you have got. So it’s very different.”
He further added, “Jaise ek dawa har insaan par kaam nahi karti, vaise hi har insan ke liye uski journey alag hai uske characteristics ke hisaab se, uski conditioning ke hisab se, uski personality ke hisab se. Everybody goes through different sorts of journeys. What I’d say is, after I was entering into movies, I used to be welcomed beautifully. Possibly I used to be lucky to be meeting the best sort of people, and I met some beautiful people within the industry.”
The actor also said, “Maine suna hai bohot logo ko bolte hue ki that they had to face this sort of criticism ki tum TV se aaye ho, tum loud acting kar rahe ho. I never needed to face that. I’ve heard those stories. Possibly I used to be meeting the best sort of people, or possibly I used to be doing something different. I don’t know. I cannot pinpoint. People from my first film (Super 30), the producers, the director, the casting team (Mukesh Chhabra team), I’m still in contact with them. They’ve grow to be friends. So I’d say I never needed to face such a situation, but I also don’t deny that certain things do exist.”
