Conor McGregor vs Colby Covington leak branded ‘total BS’
On Monday, it was reported that Conor McGregor vs Colby Covington will headline the UFC White House event.
Menace MMA HQ shared a graphic featuring the 2 fighters in an Octagon outside the White House.
They added the word ‘leaked’ and claimed that McGregor is ‘highly likely’ to fight Covington on the cardboard.
“Not confirmed yet by the UFC, however it is very possible that the major event for the UFC White House card goes to be Conor McGregor vs Colby Covington,” Menace MMA HQ wrote on Instagram.
“This fight has been rumored the previous few weeks after Dana said Conor is not going to be fighting vs Michael Chandler.
Dana White replied to the post, insisting it was ‘total BS’ in a comment that gained 1000’s of likes.
“Total BS,” the UFC boss wrote.
“White House matchmaking meeting is tomorrow. Mick Maynard flying in tomorrow for it.
“We can have fights dialed in by this weekend.”
UFC White House update
Dana White’s boss recently provided an unpopular update that goes against Donald Trump’s claim concerning the UFC White House card.
The US president previously said that the once-in-a-lifetime event would have ‘eight or nine’ title fights.
Executive Chairman of the UFC, Ari Emanuel, insists all the card will feature a maximum of seven fights.
“On the White House, I believe it’s 3,000-4,000 (fans) then there shall be more in other areas,” he said last week.
“Dana’s working on it without delay. There’s gonna be roughly six-seven fights on June 14, so he hasn’t said to us what the cards gonna be, but I do know they’re working pretty hard on it without delay.”
