Donald Trump has said China would ‘eat Canada alive’ and terminate ‘ALL ice hockey’ within the country in the event that they make a trade deal.

In a rambling post on Truth Social, the US President said Canada has treated the US ‘very unfairly’ for a long time.

‘On top of every little thing else, Prime Minister Carney desires to make a take care of China, which is able to eat Canada alive,’ he said.

‘The very first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup.’

Though the development is funded by Canada, it can be publicly owned by each Canada and the state of Michigan.

The bridge, constructed using each American and Canadian steel, is resulting from open within the upcoming months and can link Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan.

The mayor of Windsor, Drew Dilkens, told the CBC that Trump’s post was ‘insane’.

Trump appears to be upset over the bridge opening due to Ontario’s ban on American alcoholic beverage imports.

But in 2017, he called the bridge an ‘expeditious completion’ and praised its construction alongside then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said: ‘I explained that Canada, after all, paid for the development of the bridge, over $4 billion; that the ownership is shared between the state of Michigan and the federal government of Canada; and that in the development of the bridge, obviously there’s Canadian steel, Canadian staff, but additionally US steel, US staff which might be involved.’
