Zahan Kapoor, Shalini Pandey On Bandwaale

Talking in regards to the project, Zahan Kapoor said, “DJ Psycho is somewhat of a mystery, doing all styles of odd jobs in Ratlam, he feels deeply but expresses himself through collaborative music with beats and sounds.” He continued,“He tries to maintain a low profile and keep on with business, but that’s until he meets Mariam, and naturally, Robo inevitably too. He gets swept up and intertwined of their lives while his old life lurks eerily across the corner. Playing him was incredibly freeing since it allowed me to explore recent emotions and relationships linked with music and sound design.”

The ‘Black Warrant’ actor added, “Collaborating with Ankur Tewari, Swanand Kirkire, Akshat Verma, and the complete teams put together by Prime Video and OML has been a very unique, enriching experience. Through the means of filming Bandwaale, I discovered myself surrounded by an exquisite team facilitating honest, layered storytelling, and I’m grateful for the immense trust placed upon me. Bandwaale has stayed with me long after we wrapped. I’m extremely excited that our coming-of-age musical adventure will likely be available in every home on Prime Video.”

“Mariam is someone who’s consistently negotiating between what she feels and what the world expects her to be”, said Shalini Pandey. “Poetry becomes her most honest type of expression, an area where she will be vulnerable without fear or permission. Playing her was a deeply personal journey of understanding silence, restraint, and the courage it takes to slowly find your voice. With Prime Video, Bandwaale allowed me to explore those emotional shifts that usually define small-town lives, and being a part of a story where art leads the narrative was fulfilling.”

Bandwaale will premiere on Prime Video from Friday, February 13.
