Introduction
With 8GB video cards gaining in popularity as a necessity in 2026, we have now one other 8GB video card on the test system today. Recently, we have now reviewed NVIDIA’s 8GB GeForce RTX 5060 Ti variant, and now it’s time to take the Red team on and check out what the 8GB variant of the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT has to supply for gaming performance. We’ve reviewed 16GB Radeon RX 9060 XTs, so it is going to be interesting to see what the 8GB Radeon RX 9060 XT is able to.
For review today, we have now the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB (RX-96TSW8GBA) video card. There’s one other variant of this video card as well (RX-96TSW8GBQ), and it just is dependent upon your region. Each of those video card SKUs began their journey out at Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB MSRP of $299, and even dropped below MSRP for a time last 12 months.
Nevertheless, as all prices have gone up this 12 months, 2026, the costs have steadily increased since December, and are actually at an all-time high, yet still lower than 16GB models. On the time of writing (and it could and can change), the particular video card we’re reviewing is $389.99 online, and the RX-96TSW8GBQ SKU is $369.99; each have the identical specifications but are sold by different retailers.
We’ll talk in regards to the XFX models and specifications below, but let’s first remind ourselves just what the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB is. The Radeon RX 9060 XT GPU was launched in June 2025 with two variants, a 16GB model and an 8GB model. The 16GB Radeon RX 9060 XT launched at $349 MSRP, while the 8GB Radeon RX 9060 XT launched at $299 MSRP.
The Radeon RX 9060 XT relies on the RDNA 4 architecture, utilizing the NAVI 44 GPU. It has 32 Compute Units, 32 Ray Accelerators, 64 AI Accelerators, 64 ROPs, 2048 Stream Processors, 32MB of third Gen AMD Infinity Cache, and a Game GPU Clock of 2530MHz and a Boost GPU Clock of 3130MHz. It has either 8GB or 16GB of GDDR6 on a 128-bit memory bus, at 20Gbps, providing 320GB/s of memory bandwidth. Each models have a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface.
XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB
For the Radeon RX 9060 XT series, XFX offers different options inside its Mercury class and Swift class of video cards. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB sits inside XFX’s Swift class of video cards. The Swift Class is XFX’s entry-level class, and offers a combination of solid performance and model design with no extra frills in either a triple-fan or dual-fan configuration for cooling. XFX also offers a white version in a triple or dual-fan configuration within the Swift series. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB video cards are factory overclocked with the identical clock frequency, but differ in cooling, with an XFX LED logo or not. The model we’re reviewing is the dual-fan design, with no LEDs. We’ve also reviewed the 16GB version of this dual-fan Swift video card here.
The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB has a factory overclock of Game Clock as much as 2780MHz and Boost Clock as much as 3320MHz. This compares to the reference clock speeds for a Radeon RX 9060 XT of 2530MHz for the Game Clock and 3130MHz for the Boost Clock. This offers the XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB an overclock of 10% out of the box for the Game Clock. This being the 8GB variant, it has 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM at 20Gbps.

The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB measures 27 x 12.4 x 4.8 (cm), 10.63 x 4.88 x 1.89 (inch). At only 10.6 inches in length, it is a small compact video card, and can fit well in any case, especially small form factor or mini-PCs. The video card requires only 1x PCIe-E 8-pin power connector and a 450W PSU, so the general requirements in size and power are quite compatible for plenty of builds and scenarios. For display outputs, it supports 2x DisplayPort 2.1 and 1x HDMI 2.1.

The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB relies on XFX’s dual-fan design with Black Fanshroud. The heatsink uses a nickel-plated copper cold plate with PTM7950 TIM and 4 6mm heatpipes. The PCB is small, and the heatsink extends beyond the PCB, allowing for an air-passthrough for extra cooling through the heatsink and heatpipes. The shroud sits atop, in a floating form of fashion, and there’s a full-vented back cover for cover. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9060 XT OC Gaming Edition 8GB also comes with a dual-BIOS switch. Power is handled by a single 8-pin PCIe power connector.

This model has no LEDs or RGBs; it’s a stealth video card in that sense.
